Current trainee, Daniel Mamah, MD, MPE, along with another MPE  Alum, will help oversee development of DSM V criteria.

Daniel Mamah, MD, MPE

July 2007 – Daniel Mamah, MD, MPE, currently a NIMH-funded postdoctoral trainee in Psychiatric Epidemiology, was elected to the DSM V Task Force in 2006. In a recent development, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) announced on July 23rd that Dr. Mamah, along with the 26 other members of the DSM V Task Force, will oversee the development of the DSM V Criteria. 

The DSM V Task Force includes research scientists from psychiatry and other disciplines, clinical care providers, and consumer and family advocates.  In addition, this panel includes Wilson Compton, MD, MPE who is also an alum of the Master of Psychiatric Epidemiology program and is a former collaborator with the Epidemiology and Prevention Research Group. 

With this assignment, Dr. Mamah, along with other panel members will help shape the future of psychiatric disorder diagnoses and classification.
