Jamie Manwaring, MA

Jamie Manwaring, MA is a NIDA pre-doctoral fellow at the Washington
University Department of Psychiatry. After completing her BA in Psychology
at the University of California, Los Angeles, she worked as a research
assistant at San Diego State University on a study examining the
effectiveness of an Internet program in preventing eating disorders in
at-risk women. She relocated to St. Louis to attend graduate school at
Washington University and work with Dr. Denise Wilfley, Ph.D. in the
Weight Management and Eating Disorders Program.
Jamie is currently working on analyzing Dr. Cottler’s Women Teaching Women
data to determine the nutritional habits of crack-using women. She has
begun analyzing her dissertation data, which examines how women with and
without binge eating disorder respond to immediate rewards. She is also
involved in several ongoing projects in Dr. Wilfley’s lab which are
focused on binge eating disorder, adolescents with anorexia nervosa, and
women at risk for an eating disorder.
