Testimonial
"A research career in any area of
public health demands interdisciplinary training, including
epidemiological training. The MPE Program provided a foundation in the
epidemiology and biostatistics needed to understand and contribute to
research in the incidence, course and outcomes of psychiatric disorders.
the program has a particular strength in measurement and methods. These
strengths have allowed me to develop new rigor in designing and analyzing
research. The multidisciplinary nature of the training, the faculty, and
the other students helped me to be effective as a reviewer for the
Institutional Review Board, a better consulting editor for Social Work
Research, and reviewer for other journals. In addition, since science
requires teamwork to help understand and solve human problems, the MPE
Program gave me access to internationally renowned researchers in
anthropology, nursing, psychology and social work."
