Karen Dodson
Faculty Member

Karen Dodson is Director and Managing
Editor of Academic Publishing Services at Washington University
School of Medicine, and is managing editor of the American Journal
of Physiology: Endocrinology and Metabolism. Karen has worked in
medical communications and publishing for more than 20 years,
first as publications director in the Washington University Office
of Medical Public Affairs, then later as a manager in the journals
division at Elsevier Health Sciences, which publishes more than
8,000 clinical reference works and more than 500 journals on
primary medical research, clinical practice and allied healthcare.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree
in mass communications and biology.
