Dr. Wetzel is Professor of Psychiatry,
Professor of Neurology and Professor of Neurological Surgery at the
present time. He is a clinical psychologist who is actively engaged in
assessment of evaluees and patients in the general areas of clinical
psychology, clinical neuropsychology, forensic psychology and forensic
neuropsychology. His basic role is to supplement instruction in the
structured and semi-structured interview instruments used in psychiatric
epidemiology with instruction on standardized and normed tests used in
neurology, neurological surgery, psychology, psychiatry and epidemiology.
He directs a short course on psychological testing in which he and other
psychologists present individual tests and the approach to measurement
with tests in different psychiatric syndrome. The course is run on a four
year cycle.
He is also available for consultation on individual projects, grants and
articles.
Dr. Wetzel attended colleges in Indiana and Illinois. He obtained graduate
training at the University of Chicago, Washington University and St. Louis
University. He did a three year post-doctoral fellowship in psychiatric
research in the Department of Psychiatry.
